Tummy Tuck Surgeries That Go Wrong:

In Malaysia, the story of a woman who went in for an eyelid surgery and ended up having a tummy tuck and a liposuction made headlines last month. Well, actually she made the headlines because she slipped into a coma and is now on life-support.

Authorities believe this incident took place as a result of the incompetence of the cosmetic surgeons who worked on her. Sadly, investigations have been halted as no one has lodged a complaint against the plastic surgeons.

In Australia, a woman was entranced by a radio advertisement’s promise to resurrect a shapeless body after a pregnancy with a breast augmentation and a tummy tuck. She came out happy with her breasts and devastated with her stomach. She is besieged with problems like bruising, swelling and internal bleeding.

Worldwide, there is a gradual wave of a revisal of plastic surgery ethics that is being noticed. Concerns of misinformation, unreasonable expectations, quality authentication and media exaggeration have been raised by plastic surgery specialists and medical authorities.

Do not let you judgment be clouded by pictures of unattractive bodies that have been miraculously ‘perfected’ in plastic surgery advertisements. Look for the real picture and the small print. Whether it is a tummy tuck surgery or a chemical peel for your face, make sure that you have your facts right.
